settlers cottage? more like settler's disappointment! the shower ran out of hot water, and a towel rack for extra towels would have been lovely. i almost gave a good review, but not getting that complimentary treat upon arrival was a bit much. an absolute oversight for what i expected to be a luxury experience.

A charming stay with friendly hosts
Settlers Cottage was a delightful surprise! The owners, Carl and Jayne, welcomed us with warmth, making us feel right at home. Our spacious room featured a cozy bed, and the location was perfect for a scenic stroll into town. Enjoyed riding e-bikes along beautiful river trails, and we even had a charming feline friend, Monte, visit us during our stay!
While the overall experience was positive, a few details could be improved. The pillows were quite soft and perhaps needed a firmer option for better sleep, and I missed having a full-length mirror for getting ready.

Family with children perfect getaway
Got to say, this place just oozes character. The owner, Carl, he’s a real gem, giving us fantastic tips on where to eat and what to see, felt like we were at a friend's home. Our room had a comfy queen bed and a spacious lounge where the kids could spread out. They loved reading while gazing at the beautiful autumn leaves.
Wasn’t too pricey but still felt a bit on the upper side.

Charming stay with a furry friend
What a lovely spot! Had my own little garden and the place felt super cozy. The bed was comfy, and I enjoyed watching Monty the cat chill around. Nice outdoor dining area to enjoy breakfast. Just a heads up, the internet was a bit spotty at times, but overall, it was a fab experience!

I had an incredible stay in the charming studio at Settlers Cottage Motel. The warm welcome from the hosts was truly heartwarming, and I loved the cozy atmosphere. The location is perfect—just a short walk to the town with plenty of dining options, and the Historic Chinese Settlement is nearby too. Everything was immaculate and well-maintained!
I missed having a wider variety of tea options.
